PINE RIVER -- Alfred M. Flategraff, 75, Pine River, died Wednesday, June 7, 2000, at the Veterans Affairs Hospital of Fargo, N.D., of cancer.
He was born July 14, 1924, in Pequot Lakes to Henry and Margaret (Berg) Flategraff. He was an Army veteran serving in World War II. He was a life member of both the Pequot Lakes American Legion Post 49 and the Jenkins VFW Post 3839. He was owner and operator of Gardner Truck Line from 1962 until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley (Torkelson) Flategraff; four sons, Bradley, Gallatin Gateway, Mont., Randall, Jenkins, Dennis, Breezy Point, and David, Detroit Lakes; three daughters, Sue Davis, Nederland, Colo., Jill Carlson, Anoka, and Belinda Walton, Pine River; three stepchildren, Jeff Peterson and Nanette Thumb, both of Fargo, and Jay Peterson, Chisholm; 27 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Elmer, Pine River, and Murriel, South Pines, N.C.; and four sisters, Rose Gahnstrom, California, Sally Mason, New York City, N.Y., Mardell Nelson, Bloomington, and Henrietta Nelson, Brooklyn Park.
His parents, a stepson, four brothers and two sisters died earlier.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Pequot Lakes with the Rev. David Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Our Savior's Lutheran Church Cemetery of Pequot Lakes.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Northland Funeral Home of Pine River and an hour before services Saturday at the church.
