Though fully Americanized, Bozena Persons, born in Poland, has not forgotten her "roots." She took an active role in the May 28 "Dance for Poland" in Brainerd and Emily to raise funds to send meat and high protein foods to Poland to aid their failing economy.

The campground north of Brainerd on the west side of Highway 371 will apparently be opened prior to July 4 as the result of a Crow Wing County Planning Commission meeting.

Some 455 employees of the Northern Pacific Railway in Brainerd are affected by the wage settlement announced last night for non-operating workers. J.C. Bekemans, shop superintendent, said that 315 employees in his department would receive the increase.

Tire rationing and the threat of gasoline rations do not seem to be curtailing early tourist trade in the Brainerd area. Early as the season is, there are many out-of-state cars arriving in this locality every day.

Brainerd's oddest stories of today! Miss Islay McColl discovered O.E. Hickethjer cleaning fish in a new manner. He just took a saw and sawed off the scales.

Brainerd bicyclists are no respecters of lawns, and the sidewalk seems to be their right of way. The ordinance regulating this nuisance seems to have been entirely lost sight of, with possibly a few exceptions.
