I happen to be the so-called farmer with the unhappy horses.
Well ma'am I would like to say this much...Most of the horses in our barn belong to other people. Do you think they would be bringing their mares back year after year if they were getting such rotten care as you suggest?
We have people we don't know, but have heard of our operation wanting to put horses in our barn.
When these horses are put in the barn, they are dewormed and given their flu and Rhino shots. They are fed from 16 to 18 pounds of oats per day, plus mineral, salt and all the timothy hay they will eat. Oh, yes, they are watered twice daily, 10-12 gallons of water. Our horses we have that are roaming free in the pasture only come up once a day for water in the wintertime and twice in the summer if it is extremely hot. Yes they are exercised on a regular basis and are not catheterized. They are also checked periodically by two different veterinarians.
I cannot for the life of me figure out why the TV people would film my horses inside and outside for 4 1/2 hours and then show someone else's skinny, ready to die horse to show people something negative.
When KARE-11 News contacted me to do a story, they said they wanted to do a positive story and they had heard we had a first class operation.
Well, it certainly was not a positive story. I can sure sympathize with Gov. Ventura and his problems with the media because they sure can twist the facts around.
Happy with Wal-Mart
I am writing to thank Wal-Mart for the change in their parking lot after I wrote my Open Forum letter about carts being left in the handicap parking. They now leave their shopping carts up by the building so parking is much easier. I am happy to see that after my letter was printed that someone was listening. Good job, keep it up.
In an article from Rod Grams, Minnesota Senator on Social Security, June 2 by Mike O'Rourke, I don't agree with Mr. Grams on allowing people to put their Social Security in private investment.
What I don't agree with is Grams stated if a worker qualifies for Social Security the family receives a minimal death benefit but Mr. Grams is not telling you that if a man dies and has children, his wife will draw a check for herself and her children until they are through school, and if the family would privatize their Social Security, who would raise the children?
Better to leave well enough alone. There must be more important things to work on.
If your church could use more money, patronize business owners that go to the same church you do.
Jesse"The Body" was an actor in the ring.
Now Jesse"The Soap Star" will be on "The Young and The Restless," later this month.
Jesse"The Clown" should go on Bozo's Circus, which is what his being governor of Minnesota is all about.
