W-DC beats Cards for subsection title

MORRIS -- Tyler Neu's two-run double in the first inning helped the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines nip the Staples-Motley Cardinals 4-3 in the Subsection 19, Section 6, Class 2A baseball championship game Friday.
The other two W-DC runs scored on a missed infield pop-up with the bases loaded.
Paul Williams was 2-for-3 with two RBI for the Cardinals, who advance to the first round of the section tournament Monday in St. Cloud along with W-DC.
