NEW YORK -- Movie tough guy Steven Seagal was the target of a mob shakedown, law-enforcement authorities said Tuesday.
According to prosecutors, a captain in the Gambino crime family and Julius Nasso, an alleged Gambino associate and a former business partner of the actor, were caught on a government wiretap plotting to squeeze payoffs from Seagal.
The captain was heard instructing Nasso to demand Seagal pay the crime family $150,000 for each film he made, prosecutors said.
Nasso was awaiting arraignment Tuesday night.
Earlier this year, Nasso, Seagal's business partner for 15 years, filed a breach-of-contract lawsuit against the action hero.
