20 years ago (1982)

Rep. Don Samuelson, a 12-year Minnesota DFL House veteran announced that he will leave that position and run for the District 13 Senate seat.

30 years ago (1972)

Melissa Finnell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arleigh Finnell will be a contestant in Our Little Miss Pageant. Another contestant in the La Petite division of our Little Miss Pageant will be four-year-old Lia Renee Isebrand.

40 years ago (1962)

Eugene E. Loya, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Loya, will graduate from the University of Minnesota Dental School on June 9. He will receive a bachelor of science and a doctor of dental surgery degree.

60 years ago (1942)

Wednesday night starting at 4 p.m. again the Spotlite's famous Smorgasbord. (150 items to choose from.) Dance to the "Jesters of Rhythm."

80 years ago (1922)

Robert Morrill visited The Dispatch on Tuesday and claims the record when it comes to Old Timers. He drove a tote team with four horses in 1869 from St. Cloud to Pine River.

100 years ago (1901)

A party composed of Joseph Musinger and wife, H.H. Krause and wife, and Miss Peterson, all of Brainerd, were fishing at Grand Lake the other day and caught 80 pike.
