ONAMIA -- Onamia Days will be celebrated Friday through Sunday in Onamia, with sidewalk sales, arts and crafts, beer garden, a carnival, youth Olympics, turtle races, live music, food, a teen dance, a kiddy parade and more.
Beer garden opens at Herrington Park at noon Friday, along with other festivities. Youth Olympics start at 1 p.m. Friday at the Onamia Schools baseball field. The Miss Onamia and Little Miss Onamia Pageants will be 7 p.m. Friday at the Onamia Elementary School gymnasium.
On Saturday, the kiddy parade starts at 10 a.m. on Main Street, followed by a coin hunt at Herrington Park, a portable skate park at Mar Tek parking lot, an 11 a.m. horseshoe tournament at city park and 11:30 a.m. Saturday turtle races at Herrington Park.
"BLT" will perform live music at 8 a.m. Friday IN the beer garden. At 8 p.m. Saturday a teen dance will start at the fire hall while live music will be performed by "Fly By Night" IN the beer garden.
The grand parade will be 2 p.m. Sunday on Main Street, followed by a free family vocal/piano concert at Onamia Elementary School and live music by "DC Express" from 4-8 p.m. IN the beer garden.
