The annual meeting of the Whitefish Area Property Owners Association will be 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Ideal Town Hall.
Eleanor Burkett of the University of Minnesota Extension Service will present the concept of "Lakescaping," as a way to preserve water quality and create habitat. Members and guests are invited to attend for updates on WAPOA programs such as the Non-Phosphorus Fertilizer Initiative and the Lakeshore Restoration Initiative. New directors will be elected.
Youth boating clinics offered
The Whitefish Area Property Owners Association urges all prospective boaters ages 12-17 to register for the Youth Boating Safety Clinics planned June 11 and June 20 at C & C Boatworks in Crosslake.
The course includes both instruction and hands-on boating experience with a qualified instructor. Successful completion will earn participants an operator's permit. Register by stopping in at C & C Boatworks or by calling (218) 692-3570.
