Kenneth S. Larson

INTERNATIONAL FALLS - Kenneth Sylvester Larson, of International Falls, Minn., passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2008, at the St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth. Kenneth was 83 years of age.

He was born Dec. 10, 1924, to James and Amanda Larson at Roseau, Minn. He grew up in Roseau and served in the United States Army in World War II from 1945 to 1946. He later farmed in Roseau before moving to International Falls in 1954 where he has been a resident ever since.

Ken was united in marriage to Harriet "Lenora" Wickstrom. He worked for more than 32 years on the loading docks of Boise Cascade as a fork-lift driver. He retired in 1987. In his spare time Kenneth enjoyed woodworking, designing and making lawn ornaments, gardening, collecting toy cars and going to the threshing reunions at Rollag, Minn. He was a member of the American Legion and the First Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Harriet; two brothers; Bernard and Victor Larson; and his three sisters, Olga, Alfa and Elsie.

Kenneth is survived by his special friend and companion, Elanora "Ellie" Pound (former sister-in-law); his son, Kenneth Larson Jr., of International Falls, Minn.; his daughter, Angela (Ronald) Winn, of Brainerd, Minn.; and grandchildren, Kayla, Brandon and Kalie.

Funeral services with military rites will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2008, at the First Lutheran Church in International Falls at 11 a.m.
