George Williams Jr., 83, Brainerd, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2005, at Bethany Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd. He was born on Jan. 27, 1922, in Austin, Minn., to George and Julia (Phillips) Williams Sr. He married Mabel Enevold who passed away on July 16, 1997. He retired from the State of Minnesota Services for the Blind.
He is survived by his son, Geoffrey (Shirley) Williams, of Brainerd; his daughters, Diane Burkhalter, of Warner Robins, Ga., Evonne Rand, of Chanhassen, Minn., Mary (Steve) Anderson, of Woodbury, Minn., and Tamara (Craig) Swanson, of Savage, Minn.; his sisters, Rose Steele and Kathy Dugger, both of Detroit Lakes; his brothers, Don, of Detroit Lakes, Minn., Ralph (Sherlene), of Detroit Lakes, Minn., and Jim, of Newtown, N.D.; and 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mabel; two sisters, Ileen and Betty; one grandson, Roger; and one granddaughter, Theresa.
Services will be held Monday, June 6, 2005, at 2 p.m. at the Bethany Good Samaritan Village Chapel in Brainerd with Pastor Lilja Behr officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to services Monday. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Detroit Lakes, Minn.
