20 years ago (1985)

Brainerd aldermen were told that they may be faced with the choice of either cutting expenditures or increasing their contribution to the Brainerd-Crow Wing County Airport if trends continue.

30 years ago (1975)

Four national records were broken at the 1975 Minnesota State girls' high school track and field championships and the most impressive of them all is the 14.4 110 yard hurdle mark turned in by Brainerd High School freshman Kathy Borgwarth.

40 years ago (1965)

The crown of Miss Brainerd will pass from the head of Miss Shelly Jensen to one of the 14 candidates now in the running. Charles Boone of WCCO radio will be master of ceremonies.

60 years ago (1945)

Ray Madison has announced the formal opening of his new sports shop, 214 South Sixth Street. The shop is stocked with all available sports goods essential to vacationers in the Brainerd area.

80 years ago (1925)

Refrigerators "Sanitary" side icer, well insulated and finished inside and out. Large compartment has three shelves. 50 pound ice capacity $28.50, 75 pound ice capacity, $34.90, 100 pound ice capacity $39.75. Alderman-Maghan Co.

100 years ago (1905)
