Peder Haga

NORTHWOOD, N.D. -- Peder Haga, 82, Northwood, N.D., died Thursday, June 1, 2000, at the Deaconess Health Center in Northwood.

He was born April 20, 1918, in Northwood, to Peder and Luella (Evanson) Haga. He graduated from Northwood High School in 1936. He married Helen Hurst on March 14, 1945, in Grand Forks, N.D. The couple lived in Avon Township, rural Northwood, where they farmed until his retirement in 1980. He was a resident of the Deaconess Heath Center the past four-and-a-half years. He served on the Avon Township Board, the Northwood School Board, NELC church council and was a 4-H club leader.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Roger Haga, Valley City, N.D.; four daughters, Janice Lee, Osceola, Wis., Jean Krueger, Brainerd, Lois Robson, DeLeau, Manitoba, Canada, Luann Brooks, Mcville, N.D.; seven grandchildren; a great grandchild; and a sister, Betty Foss, San Lorenzo, Calif.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Norwood. Burial will be in the Northwood City Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m today with a 7 p.m. prayer service at the Bilden Funeral Home in Northwood.
