Four Brainerd Warriors baseball players have been named to the All-Central Lakes Conference team. Seniors Tom Martin and Mike Brown and Juniors Gary Borg and David Anderson were named to the 21-player team.

30 years ago (1970)

Miss Jane Echternacht, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. J. E. Echternacht, Brainerd, graduated cum laude from Macalester College. She majored in French.

40 years ago (1960)

60 years ago (1940)

Robert Parrish, first casualty of the 1940 Softball season, is recovering at his home from a broken ankle suffered while sliding into third base during a game earlier this week. Parrish, an employee of the Sanitary Market in Northeast Brainerd, was playing with the Lions team when the injury occurred.

80 years ago (1920)

In the Crow Wing County Bread Baking Contest held in Brainerd last Friday, Pequot's Class A Team won first place with a score of 97. The team from Riverton won second place.

100 years ago (1900)

"Chumleigh says his first love was his school teacher."

"Indeed."

"Yes, but he says love's young dream was shattered the first time she took him on her lap."

"That seems funny."

"Not at all. He was face downward at the time."
