Boat and water safety class set for June

The Gull Chain of Lakes Association, in conjunction with the Crow Wing County and Cass County Water Patrol, is sponsoring a boat and water safety class for children ages 14-17.

Classes will meet at 8:30 a.m. June 6 and June 25. A fee of $5 is charged for lunch.

Children ages 14-17 must have a permit to operate a personal watercraft. Children ages 12-15 must have a permit to operate a boat with a motor of more than 25 horsepower.

The class will cover all rules and regulations and each participant will get on-the-water training. Temporary permits will be issued the same day.

All-comers meets scheduled in June

Brainerd Community Education all-comers track meets are scheduled Tuesdays in June.

The first meet will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Brainerd High School track. There is no entry fee and there are events for all age groups.

Meets will be held every Tuesday in June.

Boxing canceled at Grand Casino Hinckley

ONAMIA - The Mille Lacs Band Boxing Commission's professional boxing bout that was scheduled June 15 has been canceled.

Tickets that were purchased online through the Grand Casino Web site, Ticketmaster.com, or via telephone will be automatically refunded.

Tickets purchased from the Grand Casino Hinckley box office or from a Ticketmaster outlet should be returned to the point of purchase. The credit card that was used for the initial purchase is required to receive a refund.
