Off-roaders aren't mud boggers. They ride all-terrain vehicles. We care about the environment, packing more trash out than in. We don't even like mud. Legislation denies OHV access to state forest trails. Spider Lake Recreation Area will soon be closed to trucks while remaining open to ATVs. Lakes Area Wheelers hosted Kinship Partners for riding and a picnic, hoping to make it an annual event. Trail closures make this year the last. We adopted a section of Cass County 2 just outside Spider Lake. If we're not allowed to use the area, why would we clean up the ditches? Who wins really?
Minnesota is on the right track
I think it is so funny how smokers argue that our new smoking ban infringes upon their freedom. How can you consider an addicting, health depleting, public hazard to be a freedom? I'd say it has to be the furthest thing from freedom, for both smokers and non-smokers alike. Smokers are trapped in their addiction and we (the non-smokers) are trapped in their exhaust. Finally, Minnesota is on the right track to remove the cancerous tumor of smokers who infest our world. We (the non-smokers) are sick of it, so put that in your pipe and smoke it!
Destroying the peace
Once again, the Harley riders are out in force destroying the peaceful rapture of spring with their illegal exhaust systems. You may think you're cool with your noisemakers, but others look at you with contempt.
Burning up our resources
I guess gas prices aren't high enough yet. To the slobs who leave their vehicles running at the gas station, post office, grocery store, etc., you are burning up a finite resource that belongs to everyone.
It's already being a real burden on the police department and the county for transporting the juveniles beyond the Central Minnesota Juvenile Center. We all could have avoided this if they'd done things professionally. Let's get our ball rolling here and get this facility back open here.
In response to the person who wrote wondering why the cemetery gates are locked, they've been locked for years. Can you imagine if they were unlocked on Sunday and Monday? The cars? If you think that walking was helter-skelter can you imagine what all the congestion with all the cars would be? Plan ahead and go early, before Sunday and Monday.
I believe three people died (in the state) on dirt bikes being ridden illegally with absolutely no enforcement effort in this area. Another one just went by and almost hit a truck. Does anyone care that three people died or are we going to start enforcement to protect these idiots from themselves?
