The June Breast Cancer Survivor Support Group will meet at 11:30 a.m. Friday in the Camp Room at St. Joseph's Medical Center. Emily Lanin, Race Director for the Susan G. Komen 2007 Brainerd Lakes Race for the Cure, will be the speaker. She will give information about the race and the survivor tent, and other events associated with the race which will be on Saturday, July 7, at the Forestview Middle School. All area breast cancer survivors are invited. Participants may purchase lunch in the cafeteria and proceed to the meeting rooms to the Camp Room for the program and to meet and share with other survivors.
Brat sale for Relay For Life
A brat sale, with proceeds going to the Relay For Life will be held from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday at the Memorial Park parking lot. Drive thru is available. Hosted by the Sunrise Safari Relay For Life team.
Brainerd Garden Club to meet
The Brainerd Garden Club will meet Friday at 1 p.m. at the Northland Arboretum. There will be a tour of the Legacy Gardens in Staples. Members should bring a bag lunch. Coffee will be furnished by Shirley Judd at Staples.
Class of 41 to meet
The Class of 1941 will meet Thursday at 1 p.m. at Poncho and Lefty's. All members and spouses are welcome.
Masonic Lodge to host pancake breakfast
The Cuyuna Range Masonic Lodge will host a pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday. Cost is $4 for adults and $2 for kids age 6-12. Children under five eat free. The lodge is located at 220 First Street SW in Crosby. Everyone is welcome.
Garrison Senior Club to meet
The Garrison Seniors Club will meet at noon Tuesday at the City of Garrison Building on Central Street, four blocks west of the walleye concourse on Hwy. 169. Roseann, from Crow Wing County Public Health, will show a slide presentation about methamphetamine. A former meth user and a sheriff's deputy will be available to answer questions. Bring a food item to share and plates, cups and eating utensils. Residents age 55+ may become 2007 members by paying the annual $5 per person membership fee.
Mission Possible Senior Club to gather
The Mission Possible Senior Club will hold its' regular monthly meeting at noon Wednesday at the Mission Town Hall. A potluck will be followed by speaker, DNR officer, Mikki Shoutz. Benfit planned
A benefit for Larry and Janet Gifford will be held from 1-4 p.m. at the Heritage Assembly of God youth building. A silent auction and drawing will be held, and a meal will be served. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 10.
A complication following surgery has left Janet temporarily disabled. The family has had thousands of dollars in non-covered medical expenses and loss of income from her disability.

On May 9 several members of Florence Rebekah Lodge No. 111 gathered at Woodland Acres for a cake and ice cream party to honor four of its members whose combined years of membership in the Rebekah totals 250 years. Vina Gilmer received a 70-year jewel, Vesta Murrow received an 80-year jewel. Norma Dickson received a 50-year jewel for interrupted membership, and Patricia Oliver, P.A.P. received a 50 year jewel.

Blood drive planned

Marriage program offered
"The Marriage Course," a seven week course sponsored by Grace Covenant Church will begin June 11 in Little Falls and run for seven weeks. The group will meet at the coordinator's home and will kick off with a picnic supper. The privacy of all couples will be respected.
