PEQUOT LAKES -- An open house for retiring Pequot Lakes Superintendent Jim Oraskovich is planned 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday in the elementary cafeteria at Pequot Lakes School.
A short program will begin at 5 p.m.
Oraskovich will retire June 30 after serving 38 years in education, with 25 years spent with the Pequot Lakes School District.
Red Cross instructor training set
Instructor training is being offered for the Northern Lakes Area Chapter of the American Red Cross.

Infant, child and adult CPR class offered
The Brainerd Family YMCA will offer an American Heart Association cardiopulmonary resuscitation course that includes CPR for infants, children and adults.
The class will meet 6:15 to 9:15 p.m. June 15 at the YMCA.
Cost is $40 for YMCA members and $45 for community members. Participants will receive certifications upon completion. Class sizes are limited. Classes must be paid for at time of registration.

Adult swim clinic for triathletes, lap swimmers set
The Brainerd Family YMCA will conduct adult swim clinics targeted to lap swimmers and triathletes to learn the tricks that the elite competitive swimmers use to swim more efficiently and effectively.
Beginning clinic will be 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, June 17-29.
Intermediate clinic will be 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, July 6-16. Participants must have taken at least one of the beginning clinics offered in May or June.
Cost is $30 for YMCA members and $40 for community members.
Clinics will be led by Hal Peterson, head coach of the Brainerd Dolphins, state runners-up in 2004.

YMCA taking summer day camp registrations
The Brainerd Family YMCA is accepting registrations for Summer Adventure Day Camp, which will run 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays, June 7 through Aug. 27, with weekly, three-day or one-day options.
Before- and after-care will be available.
Day camp will take place at the YMCA and various parks and camps around the area. Activities include: arts and crafts, nature hikes, fishing, archery, boating, swimming, sports and games, field trips and more.
The YMCA also offers a preschool day camp for 3- and 4-year-olds from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
