BOWLUS -- Andrew Solorz, 94, Bowlus, died Sunday, June 1, 2003, at St. Cloud Hospital.
He was born Nov. 18, 1908, in Elmdale to Stanley and Frances (Czech) Solorz. He married Balbina Fussy on Feb. 7, 1949. He lived, farmed, worked and retired in the Bowlus area. He owned two businesses in Bowlus, Andy's Tavern and Andy's Grocery. He was a carpenter by trade and also worked for Crestliner and the Gedney pickle-buying station in Bowlus.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Barbara Maile, Scandia, and Rose Ann Guck, Salisbury, Md.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bridget Sobiech, St. Stephen.
Two brothers, Paul and Tom Solorz; a sister, Mary Fussy; and a grandchild, died earlier.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Elmdale with Father Donald Wagner officiating. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Parish Cemetery in Bowlus.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday with Christian Mothers rosary at 4:30 p.m. and parish prayers at 7 p.m. at the church and from 9 a.m. until the hour of services Wednesday at the church.
