Ten Brainerd Community College students have been named to the "Who's Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges" for 1981. The students are Dennis Borgworth, Patricia Dudgeon, Leesha Flanagan, Garry Grewe, Colleen Kovall, Carol Moeller, Jon Peterson, Lori Pierson, Damone Sorenson and Susan Sunde.

Nisswa will have six uniformed policemen patrolling the streets on the Fourth of July weekend in an effort to prevent a recurrence of the mob scenes there over the Memorial Day weekend.
40 years ago (1961)
The Annual Resort Caravan will leave the Chamber of Commerce office about 1:30 p.m. tomorrow with area businessmen calling on more than 300 resort owners. About 90 local businessmen have indicated they will go on the caravan.
60 years ago (1941)
The first City Band Concert will be held Wednesday evening, June 11 in Gregory Park. The band now consists of 36 persons. Playing weekly throughout the summer, the band will also play at the county fair.
80 years ago (1921)
It's not often a man falls off the water wagon, but Joe Rosko accomplished it on Front and Broadway when his wagon struck a shell hole, careened over and he fell from his seat.
