"Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think." -- Longfellow
Money cannot buy what Kinship Partners volunteers provide for the youths in the Brainerd, Crosby and Pequot Lakes communities.
The very fact of being a volunteer and not a paid employee tells a child that this is a person who really cares about them. Of all the needs a child has, the need for someone to give them time and attention ranks very high.
Charlie is hoping for a partner who "likes what I like." That shouldn't be too hard to find, because Charlie has lots of interests ... basketball, biking, auto and dirt bike racing, golf, and snowmobiling, to name a few! He would also like to give 4-wheeling a try. Sounds like Charlie is a youngster on the go, but the problem is, he doesn't have a father in his life to join in their activities. His mother sees his need for a male role model and friend to do "guy things" with. She stated that having someone reliable in Charlie's life could make a huge difference for him.
Kinship Patners is looking for a volunteer to be matched with Charlie. With summer here, the time is right for most of the fun things he enjoys. After careful screening and background checks are completed, a volunteer is matched with a child in need, based on a variety of factors, including interests, logistics and compatability. Very often, the one-year commitment a volunteer makes will stretch on because the partners become such good friends!
Please call Kinship Partners today to help Charlie, or one of the many other boys and girls waiting for the gift of your time. Reach us in Brainerd 829-4606, in Crosby 546-7308 and in Pequot Lakes 568-4015. Check our web site at brainerd.com/kinship for more information.
