SARTELL -- Stephan C. Mantey, 43, Sartell, died Monday, May 29, 2000, in Gull Lake near Nisswa as a result of a drowning accident.
He was born March 14, 1957, in Brooklyn, N.Y. He married Noreen Dunnells on Oct. 7, 1987, in New Hampshire. He graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. He was the executive chef at the Quarterdeck Resort and Boathouse Restaurant on Gull Lake. He held a black belt in Tae Kwan Do. He was a member of the Minnesota Chef's Association.
Survivors include his wife, Sartell; a son, Nolan Mantey, at home; and two daughters, Desiree Mantey, at home, and Tess Brown, Albuquerque, N.M.
Services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Lakewood Evangelical Free Church with Pastor Randy Ahlberg officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery of Nisswa. A scholarship fund has been set up in memory of Stephan C. Mantey at Bremer Bank, P.O. Box 847, West St. Germain Street, St. Cloud, MN 56301.
Friends may call an hour before services Saturday at the church.
