C-I vocalists earn superior ratings at section/state contest

CROSBY -- The Crosby-Ironton High School Chamber Singers, Girls' Triple Trio, Boys' Quartet, ensembles and vocal soloists participated in the Section/State Vocal Music Contest on May 5 at Mesabi Community College in Virginia.

Students participating in this contest are those who received superior ratings at the sub-section contest held earlier in Aitkin.

C-I entered 20 events. One earned an excellent rating and 19 earned superior ratings (the highest possible).

Piano player Judi Johnson accompanied all the soloists. Judy Johnson provided superior rating piano accompaniment. Preisinger's and Kile's duet, The Chamber Singers, The Girls' Triple Trio and The Boys' Quartet all scored a perfect score of 40.

The sub-section and section-state certificates and medals, letters and letter bars, and other awards were presented at the annual music banquet.
