LAKE SHORE -- Cass County authorities reported the body believed to be that of Stephan Mantey has been recovered from Gull Lake.
The body was recovered Wednesday morning in about 45 feet of water by the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Department dive team.
Mantey, 43, Sartell, had been missing since about 8:35 p.m. Monday. He was reported missing after jumping into Gull Lake from a boat he and several friends were in.
The incident occurred south of the Quarterdeck Resort and Restaurant on the west side of Gull Lake, across from Gull Point. Mantey was the only one swimming at the time.
Divers from the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Department and the Minnesota School of Diving searched for Mantey's body in about 44 feet of water near the west shore of Gull Lake. Cass County boats and an airplane also aided in the search.
Mantey was the executive chef at the Quarterdeck Resort and Restaurant and was married with two children. His wife is executive director of United Way in St. Cloud.
Randy Fisher, Cass County chief deputy, said the body has been taken to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office in St. Paul for an autopsy.
Mantey's drowning was the fourth in the area this month.
