Calling the grass police

The rain fell, the grass grew and the complaints started pouring in.

The Brainerd Police Department received three calls Thursday of tall grass in the area of South Seventh and Sixth streets.

Maybe when the rain stops the grass can be mowed.

Brainerd police

THEFT - Rayshawn Frelix reported Thursday that his bike was stolen while he was in Walgreens, 340 Washington St.

James Christensen reported Thursday that a PT Cruiser was taken from the lot of Tanner Motors Chrysler, 620 West Washington St.

Cynthia Starkka, 600 block of South Eighth Street, reported Thursday that a "House For Sale" sign was taken. Officers later recovered the sign.

DAMAGE TO PROPERTY - A two-vehicle accident was reported Thursday at Fourth Street Northwest and Washington streets.

James Whirley, 1100 block of Rosewood Street, reported Thursday that his vehicle was struck while parked in front of his home.

INVESTIGATION- A 53-year-old Monticello man was pulled over for an improper lane change that led to a DWI arrest. And 1.4 grams of marijuana was found in the vehicle.

Crow Wing sheriff

THEFT - Anthony Dyer, Roosevelt Township, reported Thursday the theft of 28 feet of metal gates and posts from property on Forest Ridge Road.

DAMAGE TO PROPERTY - Arliss Bement reported Thursday a burglary and damage to a rental property at 19000 block of Alpine Road in Brainerd.

Carol Fogel reported Wednesday that her vehicle hit a deer on Crow Wing County Road 127.

Morrison County sheriff

ACCIDENT - The sheriff's department responded to an accident with no injuries at 9 p.m. Thursday in Parker Township. It was reported that Donald Brewers, 56, Marshall, of Superior Poultry Enterprise, was driving a semi filled with turkeys on Bison Road when it went off the road at 30th Avenue at a curve and rolled on its side. Some of the turkeys spilled out of the semi.
