We just added another young man to our waiting list this month. Like many of the other boys on the list, Brett needs a positive male role model in his life who enjoys outdoor activities and is willing to give just a couple hours a week.
Brett is in the sixth grade and lives with his mom, brother, sister and her little boy. He gets along well with his dad and sees him every other weekend. He suffers from low self-esteem and has had a tough time in school, so he really needs a guy in his life who understands.
His mom says the ideal mentor for Brett would be outgoing, compassionate, adventuresome with a good sense of humor and have his act together.
Brett likes to be active and enjoys playing football and basketball. He enjoys outdoor activities, especially hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, dirt bikes, camping and woodworking. His favorite food is venison and he also enjoys cooking. His favorite TV show is the Babe Winkelman fishing show. When he grows up he would like to be a professional dirt biker or a professional hunter. Being a veterinarian is another possibility as he likes animals and has tropical fish, two dogs and three cats at his dad's.
If you are a guy who likes to be active and has been considering signing up with Kinship, Brett may be just the partner for you. He is a friendly kid who gets along well with adults. He has many interests and enjoys many different activities and in his words wants to have a friend that he can do stuff with that we both like.
Please contact the Kinship Partners office to find out more about Brett or any of the other waiting kids.
