Odyssey of the Arts scheduled June 8-12
Odyssey of the Arts is an opportunity for children to experience, experiment and exercise their creativity. Children will be interacting and learning directly from professional artists who are passionate about sharing their love of the arts.
Odyssey of the Arts will be from 6-9 p.m. June 8-12 at the Franklin Arts Center at 1001 Kingwood St. in Brainerd.
As the "Adventure in Color" begins, campers will learn how they can use their creativity and talents to create art and learn how a creative God has built in them a creative spark. The adventure is open to children entering first grade to those who have completed sixth grade.
The week will kick off with a pizza dinner. There is a $30-per-child registration fee, which includes a T-shirt. Call for discounts and scholarships. Spaces are filling up fast.
A special preschool adventure is planned for 6:20-8:40 p.m. June 10 for kids age 4 through those entering kindergarten. Space is limited.

Church dedicates memorial garden
First Congregational United Church of Christ recently dedicated its memorial garden.
The garden is an area in which cremated remains are placed in the ground among natural plantings. The name of the loved one is inscribed on a nearby granite wall plaque.
Plans also are under way for the construction of a columbarium in the church chapel. Interment in the garden or the columbarium is open to church members and non-members.

Teen Challenge choir to perform Sunday
BAXTER - A 130-voice choir made up of Teen Challenge students will sing and share personal testimonies of recovery and hope from drug addiction and alcohol abuse at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services Sunday at Heritage Assembly of God Church, 13242 Berrywood Drive, Baxter.
Teen Challenge banquet planned
The first Teen Challenge banquet and silent auction will be June 13 at Cragun's Resort, 11000 Cragun's Drive, Brainerd.
The silent auction will begin at 6 p.m., with a dinner and program at 7 p.m.

The Presbyterian Strings will host a gospel jam and sing-along at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Bring your instruments and join in.
Marriage enrichment opportunity planned
"The Marriage Course," a seven-week course sponsored by Grace Covenant Church, is scheduled Wednesday evenings between June 4 and Aug. 6.
The group will meet at the coordinator's home, and each evening begins with a picnic supper.

BAXTER - The Todd Allen family will present a concert at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, 7398 Fairview Road, Baxter.
Todd and Michelle Allen and their eight children travel across the United States and Canada 365 days a year.

Service for meditation and healing slated
Beginning in May, First Lutheran Church started holding monthly services for meditation and healing, open to the community, on the first Thursday of each month.
The next service will be at 6 p.m. Thursday.
The service is for all who feel a need for any kind of healing in their lives - body, mind and spirit.
Trinity Lutheran to hold tag sale
Trinity Lutheran Church in Brainerd will hold its third annual tag sale from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 6 and half-price day from 8-11 a.m. June 7.
Caramel rolls and coffee will be served from 8-10:30 a.m. on June 6 and brats and pop will be served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. June 7.
There also will be a silent auction for 12 retired churches from the Department 56 Village Collections. They will be displayed in the gathering area and on display the week of June 1-8.
