PEQUOT LAKES -- The Lake Country Computer Club will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at Pequot Lakes School to learn how to get access to the Internet from the porch deck.
Those who attend will learn how to set up a wireless network in their home or business, as well as how to use a cellular phone to check e-mail from the boat or RV.
Ken Riley and Todd Froemming of Computer 1 Technology Solutions in Brainerd will discuss wireless LAN technology, including 802.11b wireless networking for use in the office and at home. The group will discuss the technology, the practical uses of it, ease of use and upcoming developments.
Those who attend will see the Apple AirPort, 3Com wireless access point with connectivity to desktop, laptop and handheld PCs. There will be a demonstration of the use of the Compaq IPAQ 3650 pocket PC as a wireless personal assistant.
Riley and Froemming are two of the four new owners of Computer 1 Technology Solutions, LLC in Brainerd. Riley is Computer 1's technical services director with 15 years of systems and networking experience. His certifications include designations as a Microsoft certified system engineer and a Compaq accredited system engineer.
Froemming is Computer 1's inside sales director and a certified Apple product professional.
