It's been raining all morning in the Brainerd area, but nobody's complaining about getting wet. Fire officials at every level and local farm people were pleased with the welcome rain.

Kenneth J. Dols, son of Mr. and Mrs. C.V. Dols of Brainerd will graduate cum laude from St. Olaf College with a Physics major. Dols served as President of Sigma Pi Sigma, National Physics honor society at college.

This year's Memorial Day will be the first and last for the official display of a 49-star American flag. On last Memorial Day, the United States was still using a 48-star flag and by next Memorial Day, the official flag will have 50 states.

Miss Mary Lou Lee, 618 No. 8th Street, was hostess at an afternoon tea Saturday at her home. Guests were 17 classmates. Among those attending were Patty Roth, Patty Larson, Mary Lou Carlson, Jean Gardner, Jacqueline Konshak, Betty Spencer, Mary Jane Nelson, Janet Smith, Betty Christenson, Lois Anderson, Beverly Stallman, Alice Hagen, Donna Denis, Edith Carlson, Gerda Skjellet, Lois Mae Sundberg and Shirley Larson.

The Commencement exercises of the graduating class of the Brainerd High School will be held at Gardner Hall on Tuesday, June 5. The class of 1900 will not be large, consisting of only four young ladies as follows: Miss Mabel McKay, Miss Florence Shepard, Miss Mamie Bolie and Miss George Martin.
