Patriots handle Frazee

PEQUOT LAKES - Jake Serfling and Jacob Box highlighted Thursday's 14-9 victory over Frazee with solo home runs as the third-seeded Pequot Lakes Patriots advanced to the next round of the South Subsection 8-2A playoffs.

Casey Christianson collected a pair of doubles, Chase Mason a double, and Serfling a triple to round out the extra-base hits for the Patriot. Trey Flesch knocked in a pair of runs and Michael VanKleeck three.

COLD SPRING - Trevor Ness knocked out three doubles in three plate appearances and scored twice as the Staples-Motley Cardinals defeated the New London-Spicer Wildcats in the West Subsection 6-2A Tournament Thursday.

Anthony Jenkins and Alex Jansson plated a pair of runs for the Cardinals, who had six players with singles.

Jordan Reiwer pitched the two-hit shutout. He struck out three to help the Cardinals advance to the Section 6-2A playoffs.

Rocori 5, Little Falls 2

ST. CLOUD - Logan Kalis went 2-for-3 with a double as Little Falls lost to Rocori 5-2 in the East Subsection 6-2A elimination game Thursday.

Cody Waldvogel picked up the loss for the Flyers tossing 4 1/3 innings allowing four hits, three earned runs and picking up three strike outs.

Little Falls ends its season with a 13-10 record.

Royalton 10, Pillager 0

PIERZ - Sebastian Stelck picked up the only hit for the Pillager Huskies as Royalton's Shawn Lanners tossed a one-hit 10-0 gem during Thursday's East Subsection 5-1A championship victory over the Huskies.

Justin Gangestad pitched the loss.

Pillager will next face off against Upsala/Swanville in the Section 5-1A tournament Monday in Pierz.

Parkers Prairie 7, Pine River-Backus 5 (8 innings)

VERNDALE - Tied 3-3 after seven innings, the fifth-seeded Pine River-Backus Tigers could not overcome a four-run top of the eighth by No. 8 Parkers Prairie and fell to the Panthers 7-5 in the North Subsection 6-1A semifinals to end their season.

Cody Schrupp was 2-for-4 for the Tigers and Jordan Ackerman picked up an RBI double in addition to the loss. He tossed 7 2/3 innings with eight strike outs and five earned runs.

PR-B did manage to get back two runs in the bottom of the eighth before failing to convert with runners on second and third with one out.

The Tigers end their season with an 11-10-1 record

Pelican Rapids 13, Wadena-Deer Creek 1

PELICAN RAPIDS - Gannon George, Dean Harrison and Tyler Wohlwend picked up the only hits for No. 7 Wadena-Deer Creek as the Wolverines lost to second-seeded Pelican Rapids 13-1 Thursday in the South Subsection 8-2A playoffs.

Kevin Tumberg took the loss for W-DC, which finishes the season 4-14.
