Todd Allen family to perform Wednesday

BAXTER - The Todd Allen family will present a concert at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, 7398 Fairview Road, Baxter.

Todd and Michelle Allen and their eight children travel across the United States and Canada 365 days a year.

Hinsons heading to Russia as missionaries

CROSSLAKE - Pillager High School graduate Steve Hinson and his wife, Amanda, will be discussing their upcoming mission trip to Russia during the gospel bluegrass concert at 6 p.m. Sunday at Crosslake Christian Assembly of God Church.

Vacation Bible school at Riverside Union

Riverside Union Church, located 8.5 miles south of Crow Wing County Fairgrounds on County Road 45 or 3.5 miles north of the Crow Wing/Morrison County line, will host vacation Bible school from 6:30-8:30 p.m. June 8-12 for kids from kindergarten through fifth grade to discover the untamed nature of God in the Wildwood Forest at Riverside Union Church.

Divorce Care for Kids class to meet

BAXTER - Divorce Care for Kids (DC4K) will meet from 6:30-8:30 p.m. beginning June 10 through Aug. 26 at Lakewood Evangelical Free Church in Baxter.

DC4K is a ministry tool designed for children in kindergarten through sixth-grade to help them process the pain and loss they have experienced as a result of the divorce of their parents. It includes instruction and activities that take into account the three most accepted learning styles of children: Visual, auditory and kinesthetic.

Each week there will be drama, stories, small group discussion, Bible memory verses, workbooks, snacks, exercises and music to deal with the questions, confusion, anger and hurt children of divorce often face.

Cost is $10 per child or $25 family rate. There are scholarships available.

75th anniversary celebration planned

BACKUS - The Backus Church of the Nazarene will have its 75th anniversary celebration service at 10 a.m. Sunday.

Southern country gospel concert planned

MERRIFIELD - In HIS Name, with special guests Bea Henderson-Sundquist and Carly and Samantha Blocker, will be in concert at 7 p.m. June 5 at the Nazarene Community Church on Crow Wing County Road 3 in Merrifield.

Global Day of Prayer

The annual Global Day of Prayer gathering will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Franklin Arts Center auditorium in Brainerd. Christians from area churches will gather to pray and worship in a concert of prayer format in conjunction with other such gatherings around the globe on this Pentecost Sunday. Participants will be praying prayers of repentance and intercession for the Brainerd area and the world.

St. Paul's Episcopal announces special Sunday service, evening service

St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 408 N. Seventh St., Brainerd, will offer a special Holy Eucharist and healing service at 10 a.m. to be followed by a church school picnic in Gregory Park on Sunday.

St. Paul's Episcopal Church also will have a service of evening prayer at 5:30 p.m. every Wednesday.

Outdoor summer worship begins at Pillager First Lutheran

PILLAGER - First Lutheran Church in Pillager will have casual outdoor worship at 7 p.m. Wednesdays in June, July and August at the park at the intersection of Cass County Road 1 and Highway 210 in Pillager.

Lord of Life summer schedule

BAXTER - Sunday mornings during the summer, Lord of Life will have one worship service at 9:30 a.m. The service will be followed by fellowship at 10:30 a.m. and a discussion of the day's topic at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday evening worship will be at 6 p.m. followed by discussion at 6:45 p.m.

The theme for the summer, "The Long Road Home to Jesus" will focus on key Old Testament stories that address some of life's tough questions.

Special children's learning activities will be offered during both discussion times.

Teen Challenge to perform

Teen Challenge of Brainerd will lead the congregation of South Long Lake Presbyterian Church in worship on Sunday. In music and personal testimony, the power of God to radically change lives will be heard.

The 48-voice choir will lead the service that starts at 9:30 a.m. and will be followed by a potluck brunch.
