The Edina Realty Foundation recently held a fundraising contest in which it challenged Brainerd Mayor James Wallin and Baxter Mayor Darrel Olson to see which city could bring in the most food items.
Honors went to Wallin, leaving Olson to organize the delivery of more than 1,000 pounds of food to the Salvation Army Food Shelf. Local Cub Foods, Insty Prints and COOL 103.5, Country Music 93.3, WJJY and Power Loon radio stations, along with Midwest Captions for the Web page brainerd.com/foodshelf partnered with the Edina Realty Foundation for the food drive.
Edina Realty also challenged all Edina offices in Minnesota to construct a house of donated food items. The Baxter office earned second place in the contest.
