Brainerd Jaycees win awards

The Brainerd Jaycees won the following awards at the recent Minnesota Jaycees 2005 Spring All State Convention at Craguns:

* Best hospitality booth showcasing Project HOPE and the Great Northern Barbecue.

* Gold Management Development Project for the Ice Fishing Extravaganza VIP banquet.

* Gold Community Development Project for the Ice Fishing Extravaganza.

* Gold Public Relations Project for the Media Blitz.

* Silver Web site award.

* Bronze Individual Development Award for networking socials.

The Brainerd Jaycees also won individual awards.

* Cori Wrobel won the bronze public relations vice president for the state award.

* Gwen Imgrund and Linda Vobejda received their senatorships, the highest award a Jaycee can receive. It is an international award that less than one person out of 1,000 receives. This award is given to current and past members to honor their outstanding participation and accomplishments in the local chapter and at the state level. They are the first women of the Brainerd chapter to receive it.

* Kevin Dens was inducted into the Hall of Leadership. He is the seventh person in the state to receive this honor that recognizes former Jaycees who displayed leadership abilities during their Jaycee career and have continued the traditions of leadership and service to their profession and community.

The Brainerd Jaycees is composed of men and women ages 21-40 who volunteer their time to help the community.
