Gilmore family ministry

The Iron Range Christian Center will host the ministry of Tim and Chris Gilmore and their children at 10 a.m. Sunday at Irondale Town Hall, 19121 County Road 12, where the Iron Range Christian Center meets.

The Gilmores are Wycliffe translators and soon will return to Tanzania in connection with the Summer Institute of Linguistics International.

Riverside June joyfest

Rejoice with the music of the gospel band "In His Name" when the joy express begins at 7 p.m. June 4 at Riverside Union Church, 8.5 miles south of Brainerd on County Road 45, or 3.5 miles north of the Crow Wing/Morrison County line on County Road 45.

'Building Doorways'

Carl DeLine, founder and director of "Building Doorways," will speak at 7 p.m. June 4 at the Community Covenant Church. This organization works with kids who are at risk. Parents and youth are invited to attend at no charge.

Higher Call to perform

Higher Call, a men's quartet from the Twin Cities, will perform 7 p.m. Sunday at the Crosslake Evangelical Free Church in Crosslake. Their sound encompasses a full range of gospel, traditional, contemporary and Southern gospel style. For more information, call the church at (218) 692-4141. There is no charge.

Catholic Saturday night Mass

Catholic Saturday night Mass with an outdoor Mass will start at 5 p.m. Saturday and continue through Sept. 4 at the Crow Wing State Park Chapel, five miles south of Brainerd or 20 miles north of Little Falls on Highway 371. In case of inclement weather, Mass will be said inside the chapel. There is free park admission and parking while attending Mass.

'Liberty -- A Patriotic Musical'

The Brainerd Assembly of God adult choir will present "Liberty -- A Patriotic Musical" at 4 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at the church, 2424 Business Highway 371, one block south of the Ramada Inn. There is no admission fee. Child care will be available during performances for children ages birth to 5 (not yet in kindergarten). There will be a picnic after Saturday's performance. Country gospel concerts at Malmo Free Church

Country gospel concerts at Malmo Free Church, junction of Highways 47 and 18 on Highway 18, will be 7 p.m. Saturdays beginning June 5. Come as you are. Bring a lawn chair. Refreshments will be available. If it rains or is too hot, the concerts will be in the air-conditioned sanctuary.

Following is the concert schedule: June 5, Harbor Lighthouse; June 12, Faithful Men Quartet; June 19, Simple Grace Family; June 26, local gospel music night with area churches; July 3, The Berge Family; July 10, Songmasters, Jerry and Ginger; July 17, The Bernstroms and Arnie Anderson, violinist; July 24, The Travelers Quartet; July 31, Ann Hinrichs and friends; Aug. 7, Kings Countrymen Bluegrass; Aug. 14, Faithful Men Quartet; Aug. 21, Harbor Lighthouse; and Aug. 28, Jim Lee.

Change of service times

The Sunday summer schedule at Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church in Garrison will run Memorial Day through Labor Day with adult Bible study at 8 a.m., worship service at 9 a.m. and fellowship hour at 10 a.m.

Events planned for Walker churches

Jason Gay will give a Christian music concert at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Calvary Evangelical Free Church, Walker. The event is hosted by Living Water Lakes Area Church, Walker.

He also will sing and speak at the 10 a.m. service at Living Water Lakes Area Church in the Walker High School Commons Area.

Youth group sells Krispy Kremes

The senior high youth group of First Lutheran Church will sell Krispy Kreme doughnuts beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday at Wal-mart in Baxter. They are raising money for their servant trip to Cortez, Colo., in June. The group of 19 will serve that area in home repair and provide a Vacation Bible School experience for kids.

Old-time gospel night

Brainerd Assembly of God Church will have its old-time gospel night at 7 p.m. June 4. The church is on Business Highway 371 South. For more information or to participate in the music, contact Lowell Jaeger at 829-0674.
