MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Despite winning the Big 10 regular season title, the Minnesota Golden Gophers didn't receive a wild card bid to the NCAA baseball tournament.

The Gophers won the school's 19th regular season conference title by beating Ohio State on May 19.

But they lost 6-3 to the Buckeyes on Saturday in the championship game of the Big 10 tournament, where the winner gets an automatic bid to the 64-team NCAA tourney. Ohio State plays Notre Dame in the first round on Friday in South Bend, Ind.

Minnesota finishes the season 32-26. It was the first time in five years the Gophers haven't made the NCAA tournament.
