Delina and Diane White, both of Walker, were honored during the annual American Indian Awards Ceremony at Bemidji State University. Delina White received the award for completing a degree in business administration and Diane White received the award for completing a degree in accounting.
Students in kindergarten through second grade from Family of Christ Lutheran School in Baxter and second- and third-graders from Whittier Elementary School in Brainerd visited the Children's Discovery Museum in Grand Rapids recently. The students toured the museum's Tales in Tall Tree exhibit.
Michael Celt, Brainerd, was awarded $500 from St. Cloud Technical College Foundation to attend the college this fall. The award was established by Xcel Energy.
Coreen Puetz, Brainerd, graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Platteville, with a degree in criminal justice.
High school juniors are invited to the American Legion Auxiliary Minnesota Girls State from June 9-15 at Bethel College in St. Paul. Crystal Cherne, the daughter of Ronald and Ellen Cherne of Brainerd, was awarded a $780 Cora Corwin Scholarship through the North Dakota State University College of Human Development and Education. Cherne is a senior majoring in social science.
Jerra Lynn Britton, the daughter of Jacqueline Britton and Mike Wing of Brainerd, and Doug Stuart, the son of Kim and Steve Garnage of Crosby, recently were named students of the month for March at the Area Education Center.
Sarah Larson, the daughter of Anna Bement, and Ryan Weigelt, the son of Dean Weigelt and Nancy Weigelt of Brainerd, recently were named students of the month for April at the Area Education Center.

Eighth-grader Justin Pawlenty, Isle, received $200 for an essay he wrote for the fifth annual Violence in School -- What can be done? essay contest.
Charles Mahady, the son of David Mahady of Brainerd and Diane Mahady of Brainerd, was awarded an Iron Range Scholarship. Mahady will attend the University of Minnesota-Institute of Technology in the Twin Cities.
Aaron Martin, the son of Tim and Barb Daniels of Cushing, received a $500 Carol Bergloff Scholarship. Martin is a junior majoring in business administration with a minor in marketing at North Dakota State University.

Adam Lewis, the son of Keith and Monica Lewis of Royalton, was named the March student of the month at St. Francis Music Center in Little Falls. Lewis is a fourth-grader at Lindbergh Elementary School and has been taking piano lessons at the center for two years.
