PIERZ - Jordan Hunstad pitched seven innings, striking out seven Isle Huskies batters to earn a 7-4 victory in the East Subsection 5-1A semifinals Thursday at Pierz.
Justin Gangestad was 2-for-3 with an RBI and Justin Ringler had a double and 2 RBIs.
With the victory the Huskies (13-6) advance to the subsection championship game Thursday against Royalton.

COLD SPRING - Gunner Johnson went 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run in addition to pitching the win on the mound with a complete game as second-seeded Staples-Motley defeated No. 3 New London-Spicer 11-3 in the West Subsection 6-2A semifinals Tuesday.
Trevor Smith went 2-3 with two runs and an RBI and Sam Duberowski also collected two hits including a double and two RBIs.
Trevor Ness added a triple and Anthony Jenkins, Jordan Riewer and Brandon Haglin all had hits for the Cardinals, who will face off against top-seeded Paynesville Wednesday in the West Subsection championship.

ST. CLOUD - Logan Kalis pitched six innings allowing just two runs and three hits with four strikeouts, but No. 4 Little Falls lost to top-seeded St. Cloud Cathedral 2-0 in the East Subsection 6-2A semifinals Tuesday.
Riley Hirsch was 2-for-3 for the Flyers, who out-hit the Crusaders 5-3.
Little Falls will play Albany Wednesday in an elimination game.

Brady Siedschlaw and Nate Bart each collected doubles for the Pirates, who end the season 7-14 record.

Sam Hedberg was 2-3 with three runs scored and Todd Woelfel was 2-4 for the Tigers.
