Pavement construction on the Oak Street reconstruction project has been completed through 13th Street Southeast and that intersection is now open, reported Short Elliott Hendrickson, the Baxter firm providing the engineering for the project.
Final grading and shaping from 14th to 19th streets will continue through this week. Curb, gutter and sidewalk construction for the remainder of the project is planned for the week of May 31.
Crisis Line training set
Training is planned for 6 - 8 p.m. June 8 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Brainerd for Crisis Line volunteers.
Sessions will continue June 15 and 22.
Crisis Line has provided services to the area for more than 16 years. Last year alone, the Crisis Line responded to more than 2,800 calls.

Car seat clinic planned
The Crow Wing County Passenger Safety Coalition is sponsoring a Car Seat Clinic in Baxter from 4 to 7 p.m. June 8.
Trained child car seat technicians will be on hand to answer questions, as well as to assist with correct installation, correct fit for child or infant, and to check your seat for defects or recalls. The clinic is by appointment only, each appointment lasts about 30 minutes.
