Warriors' tourney canceled, Brainerd seeded No. 3

The Brainerd Warriors Invitational boys' tennis tournament was canceled by inclement weather Saturday.

Brainerd, which had four of its last five regular-season meets or tournaments canceled because of bad weather, has been seeded third in the North Subsection 8, Class 2A team tournament. The Warriors play No. 6 Detroit Lakes at 9 a.m. Monday at Alexandria.

The Brainerd/Detroit Lakes winner plays No. 2 Fergus Falls at approximately noon Monday at Alexandria.

Top-seeded Alexandria will play the No. 4 Moorhead/No. 5 Bemidji winner in the semifinals.

The championship will begin approximately 4 p.m. Monday.

Mid-State canceled

DETROIT LAKES -- The Mid-State Conference boys' tennis tournament was canceled by inclement weather Saturday.

Staples-Motley and Wadena-Deer Creek are scheduled to compete in the Section 6, Class 1A team tournament Monday.
