20 years ago (1985)

A Sunday afternoon dedication for the renovated bandstand in Gregory Park has been planned for June 2. The Shrine band will perform at 1:30 p.m.

30 years ago (1975)

The Gordie Petersons, with a low net 56, beat out two other couples by one stroke in the first couples night golf tournament at Brainerd Country Club. Eighteen couples competed. A special prize was awarded to Kent and Jean Johnson. A steak fry on the patio followed.

40 years ago (1965)

Two actions by the Minnesota Legislature are significant to Brainerd. One makes provision for partial payment for the Brainerd Junior College building, the other provides for 131 more positions at the Brainerd State School and Hospital.

60 years ago (1945)

A drive for membership to the Brainerd Country Club was launched today by the Brainerd Junior Chamber of Commerce. The Jaycees have recently taken over the management of the course.

80 years ago (1925)

A drop of 60 degrees in less than 24 hours was recorded when the mercury tumbled from 94 yesterday to 34 at 8 o'clock this morning.

100 years ago (1905)
