Mobile home explodes
MERRIFIELD - A rural Brainerd man suffered severe burns to his upper body after his Spencer Road mobile home exploded Monday afternoon.
Drew Stattine, son of Joe and Dawn Stattine, Brainerd, graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth, with a bachelor of science in mathematics.

Five enter BHS Hall of Fame
Two doctors, an accountant, a businesswoman and a vice admiral of the Coast Guard made up the eclectic list of honorees inducted Sunday into the Brainerd High School Distinguished Achievement Hall of Fame.
"I have probably 200 to 400 people who have heard my description of why growing up in Brainerd was absolutely the best thing. It is in fact probably, in my mind, the perfect place for a young man or woman to grow up. I hope it's still that way."
Off and running
Marchers and runners left the starting line Saturday on South 13th Street in Brainerd on the Bataan Memorial March. Events continued through out the day to commemorate Armed Forces Day with a wreath-laying at the Bataan Memorial for the fallen solders on the Bataan Death March.
