Poppy luncheon

The American Legion Auxiliary hosts its May luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at American Legion Post 255, 708 Front Street in Brainerd. Proceeds will be used for a scholarship to benefit veterans through the Poppy Fund. The menu includes open-faced beef sandwiches with mashed potatoes and cole slaw, ice cream and coffee or tea for $4. To go orders are welcome. Please call the Post at 829-2249.
Memorial Day committee
The Memorial Day Committee will meet at 5:30 p.m. for a potluck dinner with a short meeting to follow on Thursday at the VFW Club in Brainerd. Wreaths from cedar boughs will be put together and decorated after the meeting.
