CROSSLAKE -- The Community Clothes Closet, located in the lower level of Lakes State Bank in Crosslake, will close for the summer after Tuesday.

The Clothes Closet has been open 9 a.m. to noon each Tuesday and will reopen Sept. 2.

Workshop on growing tomatoes set in Pine River

PINE RIVER -- Cass County Master Gardener David Moe will conduct a workshop on tomatoes at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Community Resource Center, 245 Barclay Ave., Pine River.

Participants will learn about the origin of tomatoes and how they came to be a staple in our diets. Moe also will have a discussion on growing tomatoes and the disease control of them.

Garden photography workshop slated in Pine River

PINE RIVER -- Lyle Wignes, Cass County Master Gardener, will hold a Garden Photography I workshop at 6:30 p.m. May 29 in the Community Resource Center Meeting Room, 245 Barclay Ave., Pine River.

There will be a $2 program fee.

The workshop is for anyone interested in learning the basic techniques and skills needed to achieve the type of garden photos seen in magazines.

Workshop on herb harvesting set in Pine River

PINE RIVER -- Cass County Master Gardener Liana McCoy will hold a workshop on herb harvesting at 6:30 p.m. June 4 in the Community Resource Center Meeting Room, 245 Barclay Ave., Pine River, in association with the University of Minnesota Extension Service-Cass County.

Participants will learn herb do's and don'ts and the best methods to preserve herbs for future use.
