Brainerd fifth-graders place in Math Masters competition
Fifty fifth-graders from Forestview Middle School recently participated in a Math Masters competition in Bemidji and Grand Rapids.
At Grand Rapids, receiving awards in the fact drill competition were: first place, Tristan Brecht; second, Jake Meyer; third, Kate Campion and Hannah Staehling; fourth, Mitch Rahn; fifth, Josh Howieson; sixth, Noah Hendrickson; 10th, Hannah Johnson; 13th, Carly Miller.
At Bemidji, receiving awards in the fact drill competition were: second, Luke West; fifth, Mckenzie Peterson; seventh, Scott Woodward; eighth, Hanson Devine; 12th, Peder Smith; 13th, Cassie Gardner; 15th, Jaden Miller; 16th, Austin Domino; 17th, Jenna Swenson; 18th, Megan Wroolie; and 19th, Greta Kangas.
At Grand Rapids, receiving awards in the individual problem-solving competition were: third, Tristan Brecht; 11th, Matthew Majerle; and 13th, Zach Rude.
At Bemidji, receiving awards in the individual problem-solving competition were: second, Peder Smith; third, Luke West; fifth, Scott Woodward; 11th, Austin Domino; 20th, Greta Kangas; 21st, Renae Ford; and 22nd, Cassie Gardner.
At Grand Rapids, receiving awards in the team competition were: fourth, Lee Quick, Hannah Johnson, Anthony Rice, Ben Froemming and Tabitha Villnow; fifth, Sam Selisker, Noah Hendrickson, Josh Howieson, Mitch Rahn and Matthew Majerle; sixth, Ty Swenson, Carina Figliuzzi, Emma Kauffman, Zach Rude and Tristan Brecht; 10th, Kate Campion, Canyon Crochet, Jake Meyer, Hannah Staehling, Carly Miller; 13th, Colton Borg, Landon Bruggeman, Mike Hermmrich, Cole Kalenburg and Andrew Muesing.
