College instructor's essay published
Matthew Fort, Central Lakes College English instructor, has published an essay in the literary journal Fire Ring Voices.
Submission guidelines for Fire Ring Voices called for essays and poems that explored topics concerning the natural environment and family relationships.
Fort's essay, "Wolf Lake," blends childhood memory with adult reflection to describe a relationship and identity formed by the natural landscape.
Fort also joined other contributing writers of Fire Ring Voices at an event hosted by Bemidji State University on April 30, where participants had an opportunity to listen to a guest lecturer and discuss their writing with members of the audience.
Fort is an honors graduate of St. John's University. He teaches composition and literature courses at CLC, Brainerd.
