The Brainerd Warriors softball team is seeded second in the North Subsection 8-3A tournament and will play No. 3 Bemidji at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Alexandria.
The Brainerd/Bemidji winner will play the winner between top-seeded Alexandria and No. 4 Moorhead at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The Brainerd/Bemidji loser will play the Alexandria/Moorhead loser at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The second day is May 22 at the highest remaining seed.
The tournament shifts to a section championship series at a neutral site with three teams May 26. The final day is May 29 or May 30, also at a neutral site.
VFW meeting Tuesday
An informational meeting for anyone planning to play VFW baseball is scheduled at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the bleachers at the Brainerd High School baseball field.
Anyone planning to play freshmen or sophomore VFW this summer should attend.

JV baseball splits
The Brainerd Warriors junior varsity baseball team split a doubleheader with Perham on Thursday.
Perham handed the JV team its first loss of the season, 9-7, in the first game.
In four innings, starter Trevor Howard gave up five runs, three earned, six hits and four walks and struck out three. Losing pitcher Seth Helland gave up no earned runs, three hits and two walks and struck out three in three innings.
Zach Voels was 4-for-4 with a run and RBI, Brandon Shaw was 3-4 with a double and three RBIs and Howard was 2-3 with a triple, double, two runs and RBI.
Brainerd won the second game 7-2. Winning pitcher Jake Caughey went four innings, allowed two earned runs, two hits and three walks.
Josh Tokarczyk was 1-for-1 with two runs, three stolen bases and two walks, Caughey was 1-1 with two runs, two stolen bases and two RBIs and Voels was 1-2 with an RBI.
Brainerd (9-1) plays its last game of the season at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Mills Field against the Brainerd sophomore team.
