Barnes sets BHS high jump record

Brainerd Warriors high jumper Ryan Barnes set a school record in the high jump Friday in the Class 3A state True Team track and field meet at Stillwater.

Barnes high jumped 6-6 to eclipse the previous record of Matt Janssen, who leaped 6-5 in 1996.

Other honor roll efforts (top 15 performances in school history) by Warrior boys included Tyler Rose, 1600-meter run, 4:27.73; 4x100 relay, Colby Ring, Alex Rahn, Christopher Swanson, T.J. Struss, 44.62; and Mitch Lorenz, 400 dash, 51.00.

Honor roll efforts by Warrior girls included Madison Smith, 100 hurdles, 15.44 (No. 2 all-time), 200 dash, 26.94 (No. 11) and 300 hurdles, 46.82 (No. 5); Kelsi Ring, 300 hurdles, 48.39 (No. 7) and long jump, 15-10 3/4 (No. 15); and Jodi Larson, pole vault, 10-0 (No. 1 tie).
