Why are you running for this office? "It would be an honor to serve the residents of District 5 in the capacity of county commissioner. If elected, I would be required to take a leave of absence from my current position at the county and resign from the school board. With the absence of these duties, I would be dedicated to serving as a full-time county commissioner."

Out of a field of 12 candidates, what sets you apart from the other candidates? "I have devoted 17 years of my life to providing administration to the Crow Wing County Board of Commissioners, including agenda and minutes preparation. I have a vast knowledge of all county policies, procedures and ordinances and have an established working relationship with all county department heads as well as the current county board. I have the history, experience and knowledge of how government works in Crow Wing County which would be beneficial in serving the people of the Cuyuna Range."

What do you think is the most important issue facing Crow Wing County? "There is no one issue that is most important, but rather many issues specific to each county department. Some of the issues the current county board will be facing in the near future include exploring options with the closing of the juvenile center, technology changes and the outcome of the upcoming pay equity study for all county employees. I also feel that economic development on the Cuyuna Range and the need to retain businesses in the area are issues of concern specific to District 5."
