Why are you running for this office? "Because I am concerned about the future of my district and Crow Wing County. Having lived here all my life, but also having traveled and worked in different areas of the county, I've gained good insight as to how other communities, cities, etc., develop and resolve different issues. I am resourceful and my decisions will be well researched. Additionally, I am self-employed which gives me the flexibility to spend much needed time being a full-time commissioner."
Out of a field of 12 candidates, what sets you apart from the other candidates? "I have a good hands-on experience as far as being mechanically inclined. Many decisions at this level are made on construction knowledge such as roads, bridges, parks, winter problems and equipment, which heavily relate to my background in construction and trucking."
What do you think is the most important issue facing Crow Wing County? "Getting the right person in the right place at the right time. The job of commissioner is to understand the problem, get the right people together and do whatever it takes to resolve the issue. These are not simple one paragraph questions and answers. These are complex problems that have developed over a long period of time. There is no quick fix to get these matters brought up to date. Let's roll up our sleeves and get to work. I can be reached at (218) 820-3229 or at kelytrux@charter.net."
