MUCH OBLIGED

Bay Lake Lions

Posted: Saturday, May 19, 2007

On behalf of Bay Lake Lions Charities, Inc., I would like to thank the Brainerd Jaycees Ice Fishing Extravaganza for the generous contribution to our Mobility Bus program. The Mobility Bus is manned daily by volunteers from Bay Lakes Area Lions and the Deerwood Lakes Lions. The bus brings the aged and handicapped to necessary appointments in the eastern Brainerd Lakes area.

Our volunteers who participated as helpers in the 2007 Jaycees event thoroughly enjoyed being a part of this well managed program.

The American Legion Auxiliary extends our thanks to the businesses in Brainerd and Baxter for allowing volunteers to offer poppies for donations at their places of business on Poppy Day. Thanks also to the people who made donations in support of our hospitalized veterans and their families. Also, thanks Steve Kohls, Brainerd Dispatch photographer, and the Brainerd Dispatch for the Poppy Day promotion picture that appeared in the newspaper. Thanks to the Auxiliary and Legion members for volunteering. Every person involved was essential to make Poppy Day a success.
