20 years ago (1985)

Couples golf at Brainerd Country Club. Low gross score for men was Charlie Lepper's 36. Doc Smedley's 33 was the low net score. For women, Dee Lepper's 41 was the low gross and Bonnie Person's 37 paced low net competition. Chet Snyder captured all honors with a 39 gross and 29 net.

30 years ago (1975)

Approximately 300 horses are expected to stream into the Brainerd Fairgrounds this weekend for the 10th annual All Arabian Horse Show, sponsored by the Northern Minnesota Arabian Horse Association.

40 years ago (1965)

Dr. L. J. Arhart and J. John O'Keefe were elected to the Brainerd School Board yesterday for three-year terms. Arhart was the top vote-getter with 840 votes.

60 years ago (1945)

After a layoff of a couple of years the Brainerd Golf Course will again be opened. This time under the sponsorship of the Brainerd Junior Chamber of Commerce. Membership fees are set at $25 per year for family, $15 for singles, and $10 for women memberships. Green fees are 50 cents.

80 years ago (1925)

The Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion sold 3,000 poppies at its annual Poppy Day Sale last Friday and Saturday, $356.66. Mrs. Clyde Parke was Chairman of the Committee.

100 years ago (1905)

The Mann Bros. billiard and pool parlor has been re-papered and the woodwork repainted. They are particularly neat, good taste having been displayed in the selection of the paper.
